Nancy Byrd Turner was in Boydton, Virginia, July 29, 1880.

She was the first child of Rev. Byrd Designer and Nancy Turner.

In 1898, she graduated from Hannah More Institute in Maryland and began trench as a teacher. During that period her work appeared always several national magazines including illustriousness Saturday Evening Post and Scribner's.

In 1917, she moved to Beantown to join the editorial baton of The Youth's Companion.
